Yoga for Family Fun and Parental Sanity

Parenting is no joke.

Some days, you’re a zen master; other days, you’re just trying not to lose your ever-lovin’ mind. Here at Twisted Grit Yoga, we say bring it all. If you know us, you know that when you and your family step into our studio, you’re free to be real, a little messy, and totally yourself. 

Yoga means to join or unite. And, for families, that can be magic! When each person gets that time on the mat, the whole family feels it. You’re all a little more grounded, a little more patient, and can breathe together through the tough stuff. For kids, yoga’s a way to wiggle, move, and burn off energy. It’s also sneakily helping them build focus, chill out when things get a little wild, and just be present. Teenagers? It’s an escape from school stress, social craziness, and all that “finding-yourself” stuff. And for parents it’s the perfect “pause button” when life’s full on –  a chance to reset and recharge.

While family time is amazing, we’re all about “Team Partnership,” too. Your relationship, beyond parenthood, deserves its own time – a chance to reconnect, laugh, and just be together. Showing the kids that you prioritize each other is such a great example of balance and love. And, those  “just us” moments can bring you back to family life with fresh energy (and maybe a little more patience). Single parenting? Your relationships with others (and with yourself) matter, too. Take some time for yoga on your own or with a friend and come back home ready to rock.

Looking to bring the whole family to the mat at the same time? Our Twisted Tiny Trees events let everyone join in – no experience required! It’s all about playing with movement, getting a little silly, and exploring yoga in a way that feels right for each person. And, hey, when you need a date night, TGY has included Friday Fun Nights for its members – get a sitter and drop by and let your hair down (our TGY owners, Scott and Amy, LOVE a good date night). We even have the occasional Parents’ Night Out – keep an eye on our schedule or keep up with us on Facebook or Instagram!
