* Cupping marks can last from one hour to several weeks.
Cupping is a form of bodywork that uses negative pressure to increase circulation, release muscle tightness and adhesions, and facilitates your body’s healing process.
Conditions that cupping treats include: soft tissue pain, muscle tightness, limited range of motion, painful movements, and limited flexibility, and can support muscle recovery.
Cupping therapy involves creating local suction on the skin using plastic or silicone cups. This increases blood and lymph circulation, is effective in releasing tight muscles and fascia, and assists in the removal of cellular debris. Some effects of cupping are noticeable immediately and some will be felt within 24-48 hours of treatment as your body is more efficiently healing itself.
Though cupping marks can sometimes look dramatic, they are not usually painful, and they are not bruises. Generally, cupping will leave pink or red marks on the treated area. If an area is particularly tight or stagnant, then a darker cupping mark often occurs. These marks usually last anywhere from an hour to several weeks. Please keep this in mind if you are considering a cupping treatment.
Hot stones are added to traditional massage techniques to create a relaxing and beneficial experience to better facilitate the body’s healing and relaxation.
The benefits of hot stone massages include increased pain relief, stress relief, increased joint flexibility, decreased muscle spasms and tension, and better sleep.
