Meet Meghan!

At Twisted Grit Yoga, we’re thrilled to spotlight Meghan, our dynamic and inspiring August Teacher of the Month. Meghan’s journey into yoga, passion for teaching, and unique approach make her a beloved member of our community.

What Makes Twisted Grit Yoga Special?

For Meghan, yoga isn’t just a practice; it’s a feeling. “Twisted Grit offers a place that makes you feel good when you walk in the door,” she shares. “It’s inviting and relaxing at the same time. I love the energy and the environment!”

Meghan’s Yoga Journey

Meghan’s yoga journey began with inspiration from Yogi Amy, the owner of TGY. “Amy inspired me to start practicing regularly and share yoga with many of my friends. Her words were inspiring, and the workouts were challenging,” Meghan explains. Despite her diverse fitness background, including HIIT, lifting, running, and weight training, Meghan found herself drawn to yoga for the peace, calm, and self-expression it provides.

“Yoga was a self-exploration journey for me, and it continues to teach me each and every day,” she says. Meghan has been practicing yoga for about five years and teaching for two. She loves challenging her students and helping them find movements that work for their bodies.

Life Beyond Yoga

Outside of yoga, Meghan enjoys spending time with family and friends and engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, biking, and paddleboarding. “Paddleboarding is my favorite!” she exclaims. She also loves live music and dancing.

Meghan’s Teaching Style and Wisdom

Meghan is dedicated to continuous learning and growth as a yoga instructor. She values feedback, seeing it as a path to personal growth and understanding. “I love to learn and then share because I want to show up in the best way possible each and every day,” she says. Meghan believes in yoga’s life-changing potential and strives to make it accessible to everyone, ensuring students feel supported and connected within the TGY community.

Unique Approach

What sets Meghan apart as a yoga instructor is her commitment to studying new transitions and challenging herself and her students. She is fond of twists, balances, and core work and loves teaching power yoga. “When people say yoga is too boring, slow, or easy, I challenge them to come to one of my classes to see how tough yoga can be—mentally, physically, and spiritually!”

Meghan also prioritizes inclusivity, adjusting movements to accommodate the needs of her students. She believes yoga can offer balance and flexibility while allowing individuals to work at their own level.
